Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital is at the center of a film documentary about some alleged unethical practices at nonprofit hospitals.
A special screening of “Do No Harm” will air Tuesday night at Merry Acres and Wednesday night in Atlanta.
Rebecca Schanberg, director of the documentary says when she learned about how nonprofit hospitals allegedly had millions of dollars in off shore accounts, and over charged uninsured patients, she had to get the word out.
“We really felt that it was an important story to tell. The high cost of healthcare impacts all Americans. It’s going to go on for a long time unless people look at it, so that’s why we made this story” says Schanberg.
