(AP) -- State Senator Kasim Reed is now in the fundraising lead but challenger Mary Norwood has the most cash on hand among the candidates vying to become Atlanta's next mayor with the election less than a month away.

Reed's campaign fundraising total for the third quarter was $446,087.09, compared to Norwood's $312,739.77 and City Council President Lisa Borders' $402,502.50.

Reed has led fundraising for the past two quarters.

As of Wednesday's campaign disclosure deadline, he reported more than $1.4 million in his coffers - eclipsing Norwood, who reports a total of $1.3 million, as the fundraising frontrunner.

With fewer than four weeks to go until the Nov. 3 election, Norwood has $620,594 in cash on hand, compared to $233,786.27 for Borders and $213,124.44 for Reed.
