DA Stephen Kelley said suspect described details only the killers would have known
(AP) -- Prosecutors say a Georgia man "convicted himself" in the molestation and slaying of a 6-year-old boy in a videotape confession to police played for jurors again as they
heard final arguments in the death penalty trial.
Jurors in coastal Brunswick were to begin deliberating Monday afternoon whether to convict 61-year-old David Edenfield of the March 2007 sexual assault and choking death of young Christopher Michael Barrios.
Defense attorney James Yancey Jr. suggested in his closing argument that police led Edenfield into making a false confession by telling him repeatedly that he wasn't in trouble and wouldn't go to jail if he told the truth.
District Attorney Stephen Kelley said Edenfield described some details of the crime that only the boy's killers would have known.
