GBI Agent Mike Lewis says a Brooks County deputy had to use his weapon on a suspect this weekend.

Lewis says two brothers got into a fight and called police. When a deputy could not get 53-year-old Terry McRoy under control, Lewis says the deputy shot McRoy in self-defense. Lewis says the deputy tried pepper spray and his baton to control McRoy before using his weapon.

McRoy was taken to a nearby hospital.
