(AP) -- A state ethics committee is expected to decide Wednesday whether to revoke the teaching licenses of two DeKalb County educators involved in a cheating scandal.
The committee also is expected to vote on whether to investigate eight other educators from three more school districts who are accused of being involved in a scheme to alter students' answers on a fifth-grade standardized math test to improve their scores. The tampered tests meant the four schools named in the state cheating probe met federal No Child Left Behind standards and avoided sanctions.
The ethics committee's vote will go before the full Georgia Professional Standards Commission on Thursday for final approval.
A state probe into the alleged cheating led to the two DeKalb County educators being charged with tampering with state documents, a felony.
