An early morning fire is believed to have been set intentionally.

It happened around 4:30 this morning at 1110 Avalon Avenue apartment C. Fire fighters say the fire was set in two different places, that's how they can tell it was intentional. A side window screen was cut and the curtains set on fire, and also the area near the back door where a washing machine was. A mother and son were asleep when the fire was set, but they got out in time. A neighbor says whoever set the fire also cut the cords to the washing machine.

The case is ongoing.
