Authorities say a man who fed the pack of dogs that mauled an Oglethorpe County couple will not face criminal charges.

Authorities say Howard Thaxton did not own the 16 feral canines blamed in the deaths of Lothar and Sherry Schweder last week.  Jim Fullington is a special agent in charge of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Athens office.

He says the fact that Thaxton didn't own the dogs was a major factor in the decision not to prosecute.
