Authorities say 16 dogs that authorities believe mauled a northeast Georgia couple to death have been euthanized and no charges have been filed.
A woman who answered the phone at the Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter in Danielsville said Wednesday the 11 adult dogs and five puppies that had been held at the shelter were euthanized late Tuesday. Captain Shalon Huff with the Oglethorpe County sheriff's office said authorities caught another dog in the area Tuesday morning and were still looking for one more.
Jim Fullington from the Athens office of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said he had spoken to the county district attorney
but no final decision had been made by Wednesday whether charges would be filed in the case.
