Public Works Director Larry Cook says they can't solve the flooding problem, but they can improve it
Dougherty County Public Works officials presented a plan to County commissioners that could help flooding issues.
The plan focused on 48 areas that were hit the hardest by rainfall this past March and April. Phase one of the project would cost just under a million dollars and would improve existing drainage systems.
"It will allow us in some cases, to put in permanent drainage structures we can get to in a more timely manner and actually pull those water levels down quicker," said Dougherty County PublicWorks Director Larry Cook.
Money from SPLOST three and four will help fund the first phase.
