(AP) -- Three Georgia women face bank fraud conspiracy and identity theft charges.
U.S. Attorney David Nahmias said in a statement Friday that 31-year-old Yolanda Denise Scott of Hampton, 57-year-old Germaine Monroe of Atlanta and 37-year-old Schnikia Scruggs of Duluth were indicted on charges of conspiracy to commit bank fraud. The three also faces charges of aggravated identity theft.
Nahmias said Scott worked at Wachovia Bank in Atlanta and had access to customer account information. In 2007, she allegedly provided information to Scruggs and Monroe. They allegedly transferred thousands of dollars to their own accounts.
The conspiracy charge carries a maximum of 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million. The identity theft charge carries a minimum mandatory two-year sentence.
