Blunt force trauma to the head and torso caused the death of Piper Hayden Hester
A northwest Georgia man has been charged in the death of his 1-month-old daughter who suffered a large skull fracture, several broken ribs and a broken leg.
An autopsy report shows that blunt force trauma to the head and torso caused the death of Piper Hayden Hester in Whitfield County. Her father, 29-year-old Nathaniel Roderick Hester, has been charged with murder. He is being held without bond, charged with felony murder, cruelty to children and obstruction of an officer. Captain Rick Swinney told the Chattanooga Times Free Press that the child's mother, Kristen Hester, called 911 at 3:28 a.m. Sunday after finding her husband passed out on the floor and the child next to him, not breathing.
Swinney could not be reached for comment about Hester's attorney.
