Georgia’s tax-free weekend comes to an end, and shoppers scramble to take advantage of last minute deals.

Since Thursday consumers could buy school supplies, clothes, and electronics tax free. Southwest Georgians say they got great deals all weekend long.

“I’m getting ready for school right now so I’ve got to stock up on my school supplies, college-ruled paper for my first year at ASU,” Rashad Sapp, of Albany, said.

Donna Cagle says she saved about $80. “The clothes were really cheap. The shoes were on clearance. They had some really good sales,” Cagle said.

“I got a lot of crayola things, paper, stuff like that for school, my book bag. It really helped out a lot,” said 8th grader Hakeem Adams.

The state estimates Georgians saved millions during the four day tax free weekend.
