The 4 came under enemy fire after a roadside bomb explosion
(AP) -- The Pentagon has released the identities of four soldiers, including one from Georgia, who were killed in an attack in Afghanistan.
The four died Monday in Wardak province, southwest of the Afghan capital Kabul. A Defense Department statement issued Wednesday says a roadside bomb exploded near the vehicle the four were riding. Then, the four came under enemy fire with rocket-propelled grenades and small arms.
The four are identified as 24-year-old Sergeant Gregory Owens Junior of Garland, Texas; 20-year-old Specialist Anthony M. Lightfoot of Riverdale, Georgia; 21-year-old Specialist Andrew J. Roughton of Houston; and 34-year-old Private First Class Dennis J. Pratt of Duncan, Oklahoma.
All were assigned to the 4th Battalion, 25th "Strike" Field Artillery, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th "Mountain" Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, New York.
