Sheriff's deputies in Palm Beach County arrested Caesar “Greedy Man” Rogers at a Florida Wal-Mart about 3 a.m. Friday
Police arrest a man who had been sought for almost nine months as a suspect in an October 2008 murder in Cordele.
Sheriff's deputies in Palm Beach County arrested 27-year-old Caesar Octavious Rogers at a Florida Wal-Mart about 3 a.m. Friday. Cordele police have charged Rogers with breaking into the home of Clifton Bernard Carter and fatally shooting him after the two men had earlier been involved in an argument at the corner of 16th Avenue and 11th Street.
Police say Carter, who is nicknamed "Greedy Man," immediately fled the scene and had avoided capture until Friday’s arrest during which a routine background check by authorities disclosed he was wanted in Georgia on parole and felony murder warrants.
In addition to the felony murder charge, Cordele police have charged Rogers with burglary, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Rogers will be extradited back to Crisp County within the next week to face those charges.
