Golf tournament expected to raise $15,000
The Debutante Club held its second annual charity golf tournament today.
The 16 young ladies choose ‘Mission Change for the Homeless‘ as their charity for this year. The tournament hosted over 134 golfers and had sponsors form over 50 local businesses. Organizers say they couldn’t believe the turnout since everyone seems to be tightening their belts in the sour economy.
“Makes us feel wonderful and you know charity is especially needed in times li9ke this and we’re just so excited that we can give back to the community that’s what our organization is for,” said President of the Albany Charity League Janie Fink.
The debutantes also made a donation to the Albany Humane Society and the American Red Cross. The event brought in more than $15,000 last year.
