“Youth Becoming Healthy” founder Pam Jackson will appear on "Larry King Live" Thursday and has a chance to win $25,000
An Albany woman who founded a non-profit organization to combat childhood obesity has been chosen as a CNN Hero.
“Youth Becoming Healthy” founder Pam Jackson will appear on "Larry King Live" Thursday and a Heroes spotlight will run on all CNN stations and online starting Friday. Jackson started the program aimed at fighting childhood obesity in 2004 after her 43-year-old brother Bernard Green died from complications related to obesity. CNN Heroes honors people who give back to their communities. Jackson says she is humbled.
"I watch all the CNN Heroes of the week every Friday and these people are from all over the world. They're from Africa, and Ethiopia, and all over the country," Jackson said.
Jackson will find out if she's made the top ten "Heroes" list in August. If chosen, she'll win $25,000, and then the public will vote on a winner who will take home $100,000.
