Vaccinations can be completed at local vet

With two positive cases of rabies confirmed in Worth County in June more preventative approaches should be taken with your pets.

Summer will bring more wild animals out increasing the chances of your pet and a wild animal interacting.

Worth County Health Specialist Laura Searcy recommends to have rabies vaccinations updated once a year which can be completed at your local veterinarian.

“If you have a situation where a non vaccinated animal comes into contact with a wild animal we test, if the animal is positive with rabies, we have to recommend the euthanasia of that family pet,” said Searcy.
