Rock Knapp continues to battle his cancer

There was a chance he’d never make it to this day.  One year ago former Sherwood Christian head football coach Rock Knapp was diagnosed with amyloidosis and multiple myeloma, two types of terminal cancer, so this Father’s Day was extra special because he was alive to experience it.

Admittedly Rock says the cancer has slowed him down physically, but the disease has had a positive effect on his life as well; it’s brought the family closer.

Because of his health recently Rock had to make one of the toughest decisions he’s ever had to make, and that was to retire from coaching.  Even though he’s called it quits in the game of football, because of his faith, Knapp says he won’t quit in the game of life.

“Nothing has changed over the last eight months.  I certainly have found God to be faithful through it.  He gives me the strength necessary to be able to do one day at a time,” said Knapp.
