Jail officials say Anthony Moses Jordan is considered dangerous
Colquitt County Sheriff’s deputies are still searching for an inmate who escaped Monday afternoon.
Jail officials say 32-year-old Anthony Moses Jordan was able to escape when about 20 other inmates staged a fight in the jail yard. When a jailer went to break up the diversion, another inmate helped Jordan climb onto the jail’s roof. Jordan then jumped the jail fence and ran away. Search dogs and a GEMA helicopter have been brought in to assist with the search.
Jordan was found guilty of burglary, two counts of armed robbery and two counts of aggravated assault stemming from a residential burglary. He was sentenced to two life sentences in prison plus 20 years on the charges. Jail officials say Jordan is considered dangerous.
Anyone with information on Jordan’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Department at 616-7430 immediately.
