The 'Friends of Chehaw' are being great friends to the park - donating $5,000 at Monday night's Park Authority meeting.
The money is from the Swinging Safari Golf Tournament the volunteer fundraising group held last month. 'Friends of Chehaw' President Amber Albritton says the money will go towards whatever the park needs.
"Everyone on the 'Friends' board deeply cards about the animals out here, and it just comes from the heart. We just like to volunteer our time and do what we can to help raise money," Albritton said.
This was the charity golf tournament's second year.
