An 88-year-old Baconton man who suffers from a mild case of dementia went missing yesterday but was soon found in South Carolina.

Albany police say Otha Butler dropped his son off in Albany Thursday morning and then headed to the Turner Golf Course, but he never arrived.  Sheriff’s officials in Spartanburg, South Carolina, found Butler and contacted APD just after midnight. APD Media Manager Phyllis Banks-Whitley addressed the media Friday.

“We are very thrilled that Mr. Butler was found safe and not harmed in good condition.  He did receive medical attention just as a precaution to make sure he was okay.  He is now at home with his family and doing well,” said Banks.
