R&J Auto Sales painted the store neon yellow and others are doing the same

R&J Auto Sales got a new bright yellow exterior over the weekend.

Neighboring business Mr. Klean Kars Owner Gary Willis says he might paint his building neon colors, too.  Willis says it's so they can stand out after Code Enforcement made them take down decorations violating the sign ordinance.  He says the ordinance hurts all businesses in Albany, and wants to come to a compromise with the city.

"If a business affected by the sign ordinance, then run an ad in the paper," Willis said.  "Do something to include the businesses that it's going to affect."

Code Enforcement is going street by street targeting sign compliance.  Oglethorpe Boulevard is next on their list.
