Albany police are investigating two unrelated robberies.

Police say around 5:30 Thrusday evening 70-year-old David Palmer of Atlanta and 58-year-old Davis Whitehead of Macon grabbed a hand full of cash out of the register at National Wine and Beer on West Oakridge.  A retired cop and a woman chased the crooks down, and the two men are now in jail.

In an unrelated incident two black men held up The Lucky Spot on Radium Springs at gunpoint about an hour later.  They fired one shot in the ceiling, took the cash, and fled.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 436-TIPS.
