Obama nominates Judge Sonia Sotomayor to Supreme Court
President Obama nominated federal appellate Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Obama said Sotomayor is "an inspiring woman who I believe will make a great justice." If confirmed, Sotomayor would be the first Hispanic U.S. Supreme Court Justice and the third woman to serve on the high court. Meanwhile, Georgia State Representative Carol Fullerton calls Obama’s nomination a solid choice.
“It’s terrific that it’s a woman I think. It’s terrific she’s Latino. It certainly will broaden the rest of the Supreme Court,” said Fullerton.
