Seminole County inmate found hanged in cell

Sheriff Heath Elliott says inmate Shaqueem Welch was found dead Wednesday morning

Sheriff's officials say a 29-year-old inmate was found hanged in his cell at the Seminole County Jail where he was being held on several charges including aggravated child molestation.

Sheriff Heath Elliott said Shaqueem Welch was found around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. The death is being investigated as a suicide.

Elliott said the GBI is also investigating.
