ADICA wants your input on downtown development

The Albany-Dougherty Inner City Authority is beginning the development process now that Judge Denise Marshall has cleared the way for the group to receive $6,000,000 in bonds.

At Wednesday night’s ADICA meeting the board discussed how they’ll select developers for property they plan to buy. There are no specifics yet, but possible projects include downtown housing and shopping.  Downtown Manager Don Buie says the process will be open an honest  “It’s Albany’s plan. What does Albany really want? We know that you want residential, we know that you want retail, but how do you want it? Buie says they’re going to bring in after school, summer, and family-friendly programs.
