Governor Sonny Perdue is set to sign legislation that would slap Georgia drivers traveling well above the speed limit
with stiff new fines.

hospitals. Perdue will sign the measure Today at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite trauma center. Perdue has been pushing the measure for three years now.
The new law would tack on an additional $200 fine on drivers busted for topping 85 mph on four-lane roads and interstate highways, or 75 mph on two-lane roads.
