Fire damages home, elderly residents safe

No one was injured, but there was extensive smoke damage

Albany Fire Department officials say a stove that was left on caused a fire on Van Buren Street.

 

The fire broke out around 9:00 p.m. Saturday night at 1506 North Van Buren Street, apartment B. Fire officials says a pot was left on the stove and caught fire. Two elderly women live in the home, but were not hurt.

 

Fire officials say there is smoke damage throughout the entire two family home.
