New fire station at the MCLB
Citizens and employees of the Marine Corps Logistics Base can expect faster emergency response times thanks to a new fire station.
Firefighters aboard MCLB Albany haven't had a new station since the 50's. This new satellite facility has everything they need to perform their job and feel like a home away from home. Marine Corps firefighters and EMT's respond to an average of a call and a half per day, many of those to the base housing area, which is a far distance from the original station. One of the main reasons the Marine Corps built this satellite facility is a faster response time for the eastern side of the base.
The new station also caters to male and female firefighters, unlike the station built in the 50's.
