Albany State University's Ray Charles Center and an offer from Darton College to buy the Albany Museum of Art property are back in the budget

The Georgia House Appropriations Committee cut two major local projects from its 2010 budget earlier this month, but that's all changed thanks to the Georgia Senate.

Albany State University's Ray Charles Center and an offer from Darton College to buy the Albany Museum of Art property are back in the budget.  ASU will get $1.8 million and Darton will receive $1.6 million if the bill passes the House Conference Committee.

“We are working right now to convince them to pass this through.  It’s huge.  It will impact not only Darton College but it will certainly be beneficial to the museum, and all of southwest Georgia,” said Darton Director of Communications Krista Robitz.
