Dougherty County Commission Chairman Jeff Sinyard says he's very optimistic about the Highway 133 project.

Sinyard talked about the project in this morning's Dougherty County Commission meeting.  He says if everyone is focused, we could see federal funding next year.  “We know for a fact it will make a difference in jobs, we know for a fact it will retain jobs, and we know for a fact it can open up some markets that aren't open for us," said Sinyard.

The goal now is to purchase enough right-of-ways to begin one or two of the nine segments to get the road started.  Sinyard says every Georgia lawmaker he's talked to is behind the project 100%.
