Plenty of patriots were seen on Friday at Lee County Primary School for the 16th annual “I love America” program.

Second graders prepared all week by learning facts about past presidents and U.S. history.  One of the highlights was music teacher Suzanne Unger’s students singing “Oh I Love America”.  Second grade teacher Jenny Emerson says along with the entertainment was a message to never take your citizenship for granted.

“They are very fortunate to be in a place that’s free and to have so many things that we have, and they know that and appreciate it.   Every day it’s about citizenship and teamwork in our classroom and then we try to help them carry it through everyday life,” said Emerson.
