Last year, 2.6 million people lost their jobs. That's almost as bad as the unemployment in 1945 where 2.8 million people were out of work.

Local Beef "O" Brady's restaurant owner, Bill Farnsworth, says he would like to help those who have lost their jobs since January 1,2009 by offering them a free meal. He's taking tips from the Beef "O" Brady's owner in Sunrise, Florida who started a similar program. You must show proof of unemployment either with a letter of termination from your company or a note that states you have filed for unemployment.

If the unemployed person comes with friends or family, they will receive 15% off of their meal. The program runs thorugh June 1, 2009.
