Darton College students are speaking out about a possible merger with the Technical College System of Georgia.

Monday night, Roger Marietta explained the “Tough Choices or Tough Times” report’s recommendation to merge community and two-year colleges and the possible implications it could have if adopted.  Marietta urged students to write their local politicians and the Board of Regents about concerns they have regarding their degree status, financial aid, and credit transfer if a merger takes place.  The majority of students at Darton’s Student Government Association meeting say they’re against it.  “There’s just so much to be answered right now,” says Darton Communications Major Krista Monk, “it’s frustrating not to know anything yet and this is affecting our futures.
