Records show no salmonella tests were done in 2008 at peanut processing plant in Blakely, Georgia.
Records released by the Georgia Department of Agriculture give no indication that samples were taken for salmonella testing during two routine inspections last year at the peanut butter plant in Blakely, Georgia.
The plant is at the center of an investigation into a national salmonella outbreak that has sickened about 500 people and may have contributed to seven deaths. The inspection records not indicate that any samples of peanut butter or peanut paste were taken for testing. One of the inspections was done in October, more than a month after the first person fell ill in the outbreak.
Inspection records for the state's other three peanut butter plants all indicated that samples were taken last year for
salmonella testing.
