A peanut warehouse in Sylvester is completely gutted by fire Tuesday night
A fire overnight gutted a large peanut warehouse in Sylvester.
Sylvester Fire Chief Jody Yarbrough said the massive blaze erupted around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. He said it took firefighters from seven communities about 4 hours to bring it under control. However, authorities said fire crews remain at the scene to
monitor hot spots. The massive fire threatened an animal hospital next door and prompted volunteers to evacuate the facility.
No firefighters were injured. Investigators have not determined how it started.
