Members of the NAACP honor Martin Luther King, Jr., in Albany

Members of the NAACP gathered with Albany residents at Albany’s Civil Rights Park on Monday to pay tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King. Jr., and acknowledge the role that Albany played in the Civil Rights Movement.

The program was centered on this year's MLK national theme, “Remember! Celebrate! Act! A Day On Not A Day Off.” While those concepts may pay King a deserving tribute, those attending the ceremony said it’s important to know that there are still strides to be made in fulfilling King's dream of racial equality for all.
