Ministers say spirituality plays a big role in honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Baptist ministers from all over Albany and Dougherty County took part in a Martin Luther King, Jr. service at Cutliff Grove Missionary Baptist Church Sunday night.
The service comes three days after what would have been King’s 80th birthday, and Albany Baptist Ministers Conference President Rev. H.C. Wilson says they will continue to spread King’s message. Cutliff Grove members say this year’s King Day celebration is even more special as the country gets ready to inaugurate President-elect Barack Obama, the nation’s first African-American president.
Mt. Zion Baptist Church and the Albany Civic Center will hold King Day events Monday.
