The sheriff of one county in southwest Georgia wants pit bulls banned, saying they are dangerous to the community
The Thomas County sheriff wants put bulls banned in his county after three pit bulls attacked and killed a five-year-old girl last week.
Some pit bull owners say the proposal is extreme, but others worry about safety. Albany Veterinarian Kelly Anderson says pit bull’s aggression can be taught and also inherited if the dog is an offspring from two aggressive parents. Anderson says she’s had more trouble from Chihuahuas than pit bulls in her office.
Anderson says you should always be careful when meeting a new dog or introducing your dog to new people or animals, regardless of the breed.
