Lee County Commissioners vote on new board chairs and discuss severe weather program

Lee County Commissioners voted on new board chairs and then continued on with regular business Tuesday night.

Ed Duffy was elected Board Chairman and Rick Muggridge his Vice Chair.  The board considered the option of a severe weather warning project grant by recommendation of the Emergency Management Director.  The system would be much like Dougherty County's Code Red system.  Then members heard from two entities, The Lee County YMCA and the Lee County Youth Soccer Club about the possible division of the soccer program in the county.  Commissioners say rules and regulations must be decided on and liability is always an issue.

The Lee County Youth Soccer League does say its organization would be more competitive than that of the YMCA.
