Authorities report holiday crime is down in Albany, Dougherty County
New statistics on holiday crimes in Albany and Dougherty County were released Tuesday and the numbers may surprise you.
After several violent crimes over the weekend, it may be hard for citizens to believe crime is down. The Albany Police Department reports that aggravated assaults, burglaries, and larcenies are down considerably this December compared to 2007.
The Dougherty County Police Department says their numbers are down as well, reporting not one single assault or robbery in the days leading up to Christmas in 2007 or 2008.
