For the first time since the United Parcel Service went public in 1999 the Atlanta based company is not forecasting how many packages it will ship Thursday.

December 18^th is expected to be the busiest shipping day for the carrier. Local branches of the company say they’ve been shipping around 500 packages a day. UPS Inc. would also not comment on the number of seasonable employees they’ll bring in to help with the workload.

Customers have been told that if they get their packages shipped prior to this Saturday, December 20th, at noon, then they should be delivered by Christmas day.
