MEMPHIS, TENN. -- International Paper Co. says it will cut 1,000 to 1,500 salaried jobs by the end of next year as the "next step" in its cost-cutting strategy.
The company said in a filing Friday that it told employees of the cuts.
Last month, International Paper announced it would shut down a pulp mill in Louisiana and close a paper production machine at a mill in Virginia because of a continuing slump in demand for paper products.
