Jordyn Bridges, the 11-month-old who was in an unlocked car that was stolen Monday is back home safe tonight. However, according to Georgia law, Jordyn's mother could now be facing charges.
Albany Police Department Detectives are consulting with the District Attorney's office concerning those charges. Police say they also interviewed a 14-year-old black male who fit the description of the suspect who stole the car, however the juvenile was released and the case is still under investigation.
Bridges mother, Jennifer Allen says she left the baby in her carseat while she ran inside the Family Dollar store at 1502 Radium Springs Road. She looked out the window and noticed the car was gone. At that point, she dropped evrything, ran outside and asked a driver if she could borrow their cell phone to report her car and her child missing. A family member found the car over three hours later with Bridges asleep inside.
The car was found in the parking lot at the Wild Pines apartment complex.
