POZNAN, POLAND (AP) --

Environmentalists say they are disappointed with some of the world's richest countries for failing to make meaningful commitments at a U.N. conference on climate change. Some also fault outgoing President George W. Bush, saying his administration is preventing progress at the start of a two-week conference in Poland. More than 190 countries are seeking ways to combat greenhouse gases emissions. Savio Carvalho, of Oxfam International, said Tuesday an alliance of environmental groups was "quite disappointed" with industrialized countries like the United States and oil producers like Saudi Arabia. However, the U.N. climate chief, Yvo de Boer, said he was happy with how the talks, which last through December 12, are progressing.
