Animals at Parks at Chehaw celebrate Thanksgiving too

With Thanksgiving just about a week and a half away, the Parks at Chehaw Zoo is celebrating early with an “Animal Thanksgiving.”

Kids at the zoo prepared special treats for the animals Sunday afternoon.  Each snack was a food the animals don’t usually get in their normal diet.  The kids helped make treats for cheetahs, pigs, rhinos, bears, lemurs, and more.  “Animal Thanksgiving” is the first weekend event the Parks at Chehaw hopes to do once every few months around the holidays.

Education Specialist Clint Murphy says they want to do family-friendly, hands-on events where kids can learn.
