Atlanta's Mayor comes to Albany to encourage people to vote
Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin visited Albany on Tuesday to encourage Albany voters to get to the polls.
Franklin says, “no one has an excuse not to vote if they’re registered to vote.” She spoke at Glover Dental Corporate Center and visited Ray Charles Plaza urging people to vote early this week or on Election Day. Dougherty County Elections Supervisor Carolyn Hatcher says polls have been packed this week. Hatcher says 1,100 people voted early Monday at the River Front Resource Center and estimates about twice as many voters on Tuesday.
Early voting ends Friday. To vote you must be registered and present a valid photo I.D.
