Rattlesnakes on the move in Georgia
(AP) -- Rattlesnakes are on the move looking for mates, and wildlife officials say people should leave them alone.
Adam McKinnon is a natural resources technician with the state Department of Natural Resources. He says rattlers are having to travel farther to find a mate because their populations have been declining over the years. That sometimes leads them into parks and backyards, where they run into people. But McKinnon says the snakes don't want to bite because it uses a lot of their venom. He said they generally won't attack if they're not bothered.
He says if a snake sticks around for a while, people should call DNR for help.
