Albany man slashed in the head with machete during robbery
(AP) -- Authorities say a 52-year-old man has been released from the hospital after he was attacked with a machete during an armed robbery.
Albany Police Department spokeswoman Phyllis Banks says Ramon Perez was slashed in the head Monday night by a man apparently trying to rob Perez. Banks says Perez was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and released Tuesday afternoon. Police have arrested 52-year-old Andres Herrera on aggravated assault and armed robbery charges in connection with the incident.
Authorities say Herrera is a homeless farm worker in Moultrie. Police say the two men know each other.
