Albany State University to hold community healthcare forum
Members of the community are invited to discuss what can be done to increase access to healthcare for an estimated 47 million uninsured Americans during a public forum at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, in the L. Orene Hall Building on the Albany State University campus.
This event is a National Issues Forum entitled “Healthcare in America: How Can We Make It More Affordable?” It is part of the Georgia Deliberations Fall 2008 Statewide Series of community forums. More information about the forum series is available at www.libs.uga.edu/russell/exhibits/deliberations.shtml.
“This forum is important because it provides the Albany area with the public space to discuss this national issue that is also impacting us in this community,” says forum coordinator Dr. Veronica Adams-Cooper, Associate Professor of Public Administration at Albany State University.
The event is sponsored by the ASU Department of History, Political Science and Public Administration (ESVHF Center for Public Deliberation and Engagement at ASU). To RSVP for the forum by Oct. 24, contact Dr. Veronica Adams-Cooper by phone at (229) 420-1135 or by e-mail at veronica.adams-cooper@asurams.edu.
